Jamie Stecher with his children, Michael and Emily |
Jamie B.W. Stecher ’70, father of Michael ’03 and Emily ’05, and son of Judy Stecher, a recently retired, longtime Dalton faculty member, expresses his appreciation for all that Dalton has done for him and his family by naming Dalton as a beneficiary of his will. He writes:
I am grateful to Dalton.
I received an inspiring education and developed a joy for learning, thanks to wonderful, stimulating teachers. I loved attending school, playing varsity sports, participating in theater productions, and writing for the Daltonian. I also made lifelong friends.
Not only was I privileged to have experienced all this, but I was further privileged that my two children, who were Dalton “lifers", were fortunate to have the same kind of formative experiences that I had.
Dalton has meant as much to me—and has helped make me who I am—as any institution that I have been involved with over the years. This is why I have gratefully supported Dalton since my graduation in 1970. I have given to Dalton’s Annual Fund and to various Capital Campaigns, I have served on the Board and on various committees and task forces. I feel a particular responsibility to give back to Dalton because I attended Dalton on a 90% scholarship.
Recently, when I rewrote my Will I made sure to support the institutions that have meant the most to me: my college, my law school, and especially Dalton. Including Dalton in my Will is another way for me to say thanks.
